Rich LeGaspi bought his first home in Norwalk in 1986, at 22 years old. Forty years later, he and his wife Natalie are still here — raising their family, building their careers, and giving back to the community that raised them. They've been married 38 years, raised two children, Christina and Joseph, both Norwalk High graduates, and now enjoy their grandson, Alexander. For Rich, Norwalk isn't just where he lives; it's the place that gave his family everything and where he's spent a lifetime trying to give back.
Professionally, Rich has spent 25 years as an Area Manager overseeing multi-million-dollar sales operations with real, hands-on budget accountability, which he'll bring to the City Council table.
But Rich's deepest roots in Norwalk are in the rooms where this city's decisions actually get made. He was elected to the Norwalk-La Mirada Unified School District Board in 1999 and again in 2003, serving as Board Vice President and then President. During his tenure, he helped raise graduation standards and bring the International Baccalaureate program to La Mirada High School. He went on to serve as President of the Southeast ROP Board.
Rich has served the city directly as a Commissioner since 1991, and today chairs Norwalk's Public Safety Commission — giving him direct, ongoing insight into how the city's safety programs actually function day-to-day. He also serves on the Social Service Commission. In the business community, Rich is a past President of the Norwalk Chamber of Commerce, elected to consecutive terms in 2022 and 2023. He currently serves on the SELACO Workforce Development Board as President (2024 to 2026) and now as Vice President, connecting Norwalk residents to real jobs and local employers to a trained, ready workforce.
Rich's faith and community life run just as deep. He's been a member of St. John of God Church for more than 32 years, where he chairs the parish's annual community fiesta, and he's a longtime member of the Norwalk Knights of Columbus and the Norwalk Lions Club.
Rich is proud to be supported in this campaign by former Congresswoman Grace Napolitano. A Norwalk legend and a longtime resident of this city since 1960, who has served as a mentor to him.
Rich's vision for Norwalk is simple: Norwalk Families First. A city that stays safe, stays affordable, and stays a place where families who grew up here can afford to stay, and where the next generation gets the same opportunities he did.
